Obsessed with food (some may say greedy) for as long as I can remember, it is not uncommon for me to be thinking about what I’m going to eat for supper while I’m still eating my lunch.
Turning greed into a career started at the age of 14 when I won the Young Cook of Britain competition. A first class degree from Newcastle University followed; then a stint travelling around the world working as a chef cemented a dream of becoming a professional food writer.
I have now been a freelance food writer, editor, stylist and consultant for almost 20 years. I work with magazines and publishers, writing books and editorial features, as well as making food look beautiful for photos, advertising and film, presenting cookery demonstrations and appearing on TV and radio.
As a consultant, I work with large brands, as well as boutique suppliers and producers to help them get the very best from their products.
I am now based in London where I live with my young family.
